Profile: John Luckhurst came to the profession after successful careers in the National Health Service and Home Office. During both of these careers John gained extensive experience in Forensic and General Psychiatry. His work in this field was recognised in 2000 when he received a national award from his profession.
This experience underpins his criminal practice where he has quickly established a reputation for representing mentally disordered offenders. This includes such areas of unfitness to plead, insanity and duress and sections 37, 38 and 41 of the Mental Health Act.
John’s general criminal practice encompasses areas such as Road Traffic Law and in particular successfully representing licensed taxi drivers in both criminal and licensing matters.
When time permits ‘Munroe Bagging’ is John’s ongoing challenge together with outfoxing his three young children.
